(June 6, 2012, Newport Beach, CA) – Ocean Magazine
The ultimate style guide for beach-bound beauties, in 2005, sisters Molly Chizzick and Amy Mccabe, launched Ocean magazine. Designed and edited for fashion-forward and style-conscious women in search of the hautest trends, the publication, originally focused on the trends along the Southern California coastline, has since captured an audience from Los Angeles to Rio.
Appreciating and recognizing that change in this world is the only constant, Molly Chizzick, Editor-in-Chief, and Amy Mccabe, Associate Publisher, embarked on a mission to celebrate style, as influenced by society, culture and travel throughout the world.
“From the beginning, we hoped for Ocean magazine to celebrate both global sophistication and chic inspiration, which we see as capturing the essence of a true ” fashion-ista”–intelligent yet playful, with a passion for style along with worldly know-how,” says Chizzick, Editor-in-Chief.
With a fresh approach and “of-the-moment” advice, Ocean’s unique passion to encapsulate a wealth of inspiration found around the world, resulted in a bold and distinctive resource, which quickly became a global style authority. Renowned for its sophisticated, yet accessible, design, editorial and award-winning photography, with fashion and beauty captured in the most chic cities to the most beautiful beaches worldwide.
“While staying aligned with Ocean’s vision to create a publication, which shaped and illustrated the beauty and styles which makeup the world, beyond our own shores, with the incredibly skills of Ocean’s Director of Photography, Dominic Petruzzi, we’ve had the opportunity to capture the essence of some of the most incredible landscapes, designers and cultures in destinations such as Bali, Malaysia, Fiji, Hawaii, and Mexico–in addition to the beautiful California’s coastline,” says Chizzick.
With supermodels such as Daniela Pestova photographed along the beautiful beaches of Pangkor Laut Resort in Malaysia, and famed actresses and celebrities including Kim Kardashian, photographed in Newport Beach overlooking the Pacific coastline, Ocean has continued to evolve and create its own niche among national titles.
“It’s important to us to continue changing with the times,” says Mccabe, Associate Publisher. “Since the magazine’s premiere issue in 2005, nearly every industry and individual has in someway adapted to the new climate that has emerged in the US and worldwide. This has inspired us further to observe and too “change with the times”–encouraging us to look further at what is needed today.”
With the launch of Ocean Breaks, an incentivized social sharing addition to Ocean magazine, Ocean magazine is excited to now provide a strategic business marketing partner for advertisers. Ocean Breaks will deliver online promotions with multiple channels to reach your clientele and customer demographic: WOMEN.
“Watching as friends, advertisers and businesses creatively seek fresh ideas, resources, etc., to evolve with the nature of today’s market, we are extremely excited to be able to launch a “new” Ocean magazine, as well as to continue our passion of providing a high-end, fashion-forward publication,” says Mccabe.
Kim Butzbach of Denmark, the new Publisher of Ocean magazine, has joined Molly and Amy Chizzick, in a fresh approach to publishing on a global scale. With the assistance of Butzbach, Ocean magazine will reflect its initiative to provide women with an accessible, fun and insightful magazine that continues to support and reflect the dynamic nature of media worldwide.
“We welcome this new opportunity to work alongside businesses in a way that supports their initiatives,” says Butzbach. “And hope that this is just the beginning of new launches to come for Ocean.”
Ocean will announce the release of its new website and Ocean Breaks, June 2012, which will keep with the tone, quality and originality of that of the first seven years, continuing to strive for and pursue new trend-conscious, inspired approaches.
